1. Applicability
These terms of service ("Terms") apply to all use of the website, demo environment, and software service of Stratifica ("Service"), offered by Stratifica ("we", "us").
By using the Service, creating an account, subscribing, or joining the waitlist, you agree to these Terms. We recommend reading these Terms carefully before using the Service.
Deviations are valid only if confirmed in writing by us.
2. Service description
Stratifica is a cloud-based platform that supports educational institutions in automatically generating, optimizing, and managing lesson timetables using AI. The Service includes timetable planning, conflict detection, integrations with school information systems, and management of school rules.
Functionality may differ per plan (Pilot, Professional, Enterprise). We continuously develop the Service; specifications on the website and in quotes are leading.
The demo environment shows representative functionality with sample data and is not intended for production use in a school environment.
3. Account and access
Full use of the Service may require an account and agreement with the school. You are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
You provide accurate and up-to-date information at registration and when making changes. Misuse, unauthorized access, or sharing accounts with unauthorized persons is not permitted.
We may suspend access (temporarily) if we suspect misuse, security incidents, or breach of these Terms.
4. Subscriptions, pricing, and payment
Subscriptions are offered on a monthly basis unless otherwise agreed in writing. Prices are listed on our pricing page and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise.
Payment is due in advance per billing period. In case of late payment we may suspend the Service after a reasonable reminder period.
You may cancel monthly subscriptions at the end of the current billing period unless a different term is set in a separate agreement. Annual subscriptions run for the agreed contract term.
We reserve the right to adjust prices with reasonable notice for existing customers.
5. Use and acceptable use
You use the Service solely for legitimate educational purposes and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. It is not permitted to:
- Use the Service in a way that harms operation, security, or availability.
- Gain unauthorized access to systems, data, or accounts of others.
- Reverse-engineer, copy, or resell the Service without written permission.
- Process unlawful, discriminatory, or infringing content via the Service.
- Generate automated scraping or excessively burdensome traffic without permission.
The school remains responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of timetable and personal data processed in the Service.
6. Intellectual property
All rights to the Service, software, documentation, Stratifica brand name, logo, and related materials belong to us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use for the duration of the subscription.
By sharing feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free right to use them to improve the Service, without obligation to compensate you.
Timetable data and school content remain the property of the school. We process them solely on behalf of the school.
7. Availability and support
We strive for high availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance is communicated in advance where possible.
Support level and response times depend on the chosen plan. Enterprise customers may have additional SLA arrangements in a separate agreement.
Integrations with third-party systems (such as Magister, Somtoday, Zermelo, or Xedule) depend on the availability and API endpoints of those parties.
8. Liability
The Service supports timetable planning; the school remains ultimately responsible for final scheduling decisions and compliance with education regulations.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount the customer paid us in the twelve months preceding the event causing the damage, with a maximum of the amount of the current annual subscription.
We are not liable for indirect damage, consequential damage, lost profits, or data loss, except in cases of intent or deliberate recklessness on our part or where mandatory law provides otherwise.
9. Privacy and data protection
We process personal data in accordance with our privacy policy at https://stratifica.julianschoonhoven.com/en-en/privacy. For processing school and timetable data we enter into a data processing agreement with customers in accordance with the GDPR.
The school is the data controller for personal data of students and staff processed via the Service; Stratifica acts as processor unless otherwise agreed.
10. Termination
You may terminate your subscription according to the cancellation rules in section 4. We may terminate the agreement with immediate effect in case of serious breach of these Terms or bankruptcy.
After termination your access to the Service ends. We delete or return customer data in accordance with our privacy policy and the data processing agreement, unless legal retention obligations require otherwise.
11. Changes to the Terms
We may change these Terms. For material changes we inform active customers at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance unless you cancel within that period.

12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are preferably resolved by mutual agreement. If that fails, the competent court(s) in the Netherlands have exclusive jurisdiction unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
